Assignment for Class

For my class I have to do the following post on my blog (enjoy):

*Weblogs: Weblogs are excellent ways of connecting with parents and letting them know what is going on in the classroom. Another way a teacher could use it is to create a writing lesson for older students and each day have one students blog about the day and what the classroom did. This would not only formulate their ability to share information, but also enhance their writing and typing skills.

RSS: As a teacher you could post questions to see if students have understood the assignment, what their favorite class is, etc. Really anything to learn more about your students and how you could be a better teacher. This also saves your time in the way of bookmarking sites, which will save you time so you do not have to visit that site unless there is something new you would like to see.

Online Photo Galleries: These are great ways to enhance learning through technology. Whether it be posting class pictures, activities in the classroom or even pictures that will help in a lesson plan, these are a great thing to use. However, one must be careful when using these sites for the protection of students.

School Stinks.....

I have SO much to do for school.....it stinks.....UGH!

Craigslist......

SO I was bored the other day and decided to "surf" craigslist. I came across something very interesting. I came across a post from a woman that said, "I have two children and we need blankets for the winter for their beds. We can't pay much."

Okay......so maybe it is just me that has quite a few blankets sitting around the house....but I was like,"I CAN HELP!"

So.......I didn't spend money....yay.....and I have a new hobby......surfing craigslist seeing who I can help.

Try it sometime.

First day of School

Today is Casey and I's first day of school. Casey felt the need to talk in his sleep all night and then slap me in the shoulder too. Apparently I made angry before he went to sleep. Jeez! lol

Anywho......first class was good. It is about cultural diversity. If you have ever been to Philomath you know it has a lot of cultural diversity. (NOT)

Next class was LITERATURE FOR THE MIDDLE LEVEL. What I want to know is what is the middle level? It kind of sounds like, "books for pergatory." Just a thought. Anyways, the teacher didn't show and there are only three of us in the class. Teacher not showing: Really cool. Three students in the class: A little too intiment.

Interesting......

I be back blog buddies. Must go to an ED meeting. OH the joys.

Life is Weird

Okay....so here is a life update:

*Casey is still in school (he will be for about seven more years). yes, kudos to him.

*I am in my last year of school.....hopefully. :) I am with kindergartners this year. Not the age I intended to do, however it is very fun.

*Casey is working at OSU full time until classes start, then he moves to part time.

*I am working full time at NIRSA until classes start and then I will be part time as well.

*I just started a business called Exquisite Weddings. We do coordination and consultation + much more for wedding days. The website is still under construction, however, if you want to take a quick peek or let people know about us: be my guest!:) ExquisiteWeddings.Web.officelive.com

*I have been working out lately and will run my first 5k October 12th. I am not a good runner, but I really am trying to be. I have lost exactly 18 pounds in the last 2.5 months YEEHAW! Only 22 more to go. I hope to have them all gone by Christmas. (That is my goal anyways).

*Casey is still the worship leader and church and is loving it.

That is about it as far as updates go...

OH YEA, AND WE JUST GOT A NEW COUCH!! YAY!! PEOPLE CAN NOW COME OVER AND NOT SIT ON THE GROUND!

Domestic???

So I have been domestic lately. For those of you that know me well this may come as a shock. I have been sewing. Yep, that's right.....good old sewing. And let me tell you.....I'm not as awful as suspected.........If I am not careful Casey may want me to make dinner soon too. I am not really for that. I will stick with the sewing for now. ;)

Working out

So today I went to work out....did my running....stair laps.....crunches and then was working on my pushups when all of the sudden I hear a POP! and I layed yelling on the ground. hahaha I am sure it looked really incredible. I am not sure what happened over than something in my knee snapped. I hurt so bad I couldn't put my knee back on the ground.......now my knee is just numb....I seriously cannot feel it. Wow! Good job Erin. Not sure what I did, however I am assuming it will fix itself.

That is what people without insurance do.....hope things fix themselves. haha

Or I may have to amputate my own leg.

Okay........I have not updated this blog is SO long! My apologies!

Nothing much has gone on. Casey and I will be celebrating our two year wedding anniversary really soon.......September 16th.

I have been running a lot lately as well as weight training. I love it. I wish I would have done more of it in high school. Too late for that.... :)

I am hoping to do a five or seven k this winter. That would be fun and a good accomplishment.

Casey is still good......amazing and smart. He is still at OSU, however finishes this year, takes his MCAT and then we will figure out where to go. Adventure for sure!

I am in kindergarten this year all year. That will be a lot of fun. I am sure you will all be reading a lot of stories.

MEXICO

That is where Casey is headed tomorrow morning! He will be gone for 12 days.....or something like that.....so you will see a lot of blogging behavior. :)

So last night I was being domestic.....which is very unusual for me......and the tatertot casserole was just about to be done in the oven. Well, most people, smart people, decide they should pick up an oven mitt to retrieve the casserole dish from the oven......not me. I think, "My tatertot casserole is going to burn if I don't get it out fast!" So, I grabbed a kitchen towel, wrapped it around my hand, and grabbed the dish out of the oven. All of the sudden my finger felt really hot, and I was like, "I AM BURNING MY FINGER!" However, my brain was a bit slow and would not move my hand. Sad.....

I was supposed to be cooking for friends, we were about to leave for their place and then I had to go and burn my finger. The kind of burn where before you can put it under water you already have a blister......joyous.

So I complained the whole way with my finger on a frozen bag of peas.

Feel bad for me.

Remember lipsmaker chapstick? It really was the epitome of "cool" in elementary school. The more you had on a necklace.....the higher ranking of popular you were......really an incredible marketing tool.

Wow.....I have majorly sucked about blogging....my sincerest apologies. Just to fill you in: we are still married :) still in school :) still living in the same apartment :) and doing all the same things. lol.

Casey is busy with work, school, leading worship at church, and getting ready for leave for mexico on Saturday.

I have been busy with work, school and starting a business :) Oh yes....more to come.

Here I am Again.......

Apologies to you dearest blog. I almost forgot that you existed......oh how that would be a very sad day. It has come to my attention that without children, a digital camera and a life there is not much to blog about. However, I will prevail. I will find something.........I MUST. :)

Typical day today....did not want to get out of bed, but the alarm finally shut off after "alarming" if you will, seven times. "Wow. Erin, you stink at getting up." "Yes, yes, I know. Thank you Casey."

I ate my nice bowl of honey nut cheerios......the cheap brand....and headed off to school to teach kindergartners about animal identification. It was nice and fun. Due to illness, I did not go to my next class, but rather ate lunch with my grandma. Great woman. She fed me, gave me dessert, and even sent me packing with flowers in hand. :) I love her.

Went to work, went home, ate dinner, worked on homework way above my comprehension level.........

Right now? Taking a short break.......

I need ice cream or something.

Depressing blog.....sorry folks. :(

Another Busy Week!

We my friends it has been another very busy week. :) With movie nights galore, rearranging our apartment, work, school, and other commitments, our week flew by!

PRAISE OF THE WEEK: WE ARE STARTING WEEK 4 IN SCHOOL! ONLY SIX MORE WEEKS OF THIS TERM!!

Another HUGE praise......I got into the College of Education at Western Oregon so in about 4 terms I will be a certified teacher. Yay!

So many things to talk about.....so little time to write them all. :)

The Glory Of School

Casey is currently studying for one of his many classes that are beyond knowledgable comprehension for me while I just finished a tessellation. Yes, those pictures we made in 7th grade math where we take shapes, flip them around and color them in order to create a master shape. For some reason teachers think these are fun........I have yet to see the reasoning behind that.

Life is busy right now, sometimes a little to busy to breathe. But God is good, holds our hand and walks with us everyday - and for that.....I am forever grateful.

I get to read a children's book to one of my classes tomorrow.....yes....that is an assigment. YEEHAW! What a great assignment!

Oh the things we do to avoid housework.....

Right now I am desperatly avoiding housework.....yay. lol My house is trashed and I absoultly am not wanting to clean it. Good ways to avoid house work:

*Do homework weeks in advance

*Watch Lifetime movies and tell yourself that you will clean when the movie ends. (they are about four hours long)

*Make a five course dinner for your husband

*Google how wind is created

*Clean out your purse

*Try on clothes you have not worn in a long time


Yes, I have done all of the above. :)

Wish me luck, that I may find the internal motivation I need in order to clean. haha
